Benjamin Otto, born in Hamburg in 1975, is a holistic entrepreneur and philanthropist. As a representative of a new generation of family business entrepreneurs, he and his teams aim to combine entrepreneurship and philanthropy in a new way.

After graduating from high school, Benjamin Otto completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Germany's oldest private bank. This was followed by a degree in International Business at the European Business School in London. After working abroad in Madrid and Buenos Aires, guided by his passion for technology and entrepreneurship, he founded Intelligent House Solutions in 2002, a company that equips private and commercial buildings with high-quality architecture and innovative technology. What started as a small business in a niche market developed dynamically into a medium-sized group of companies for project development, evoreal Holding, which Benjamin Otto sold in 2018.

From 2012 to 2015, Benjamin Otto was managing director of the e-commerce start-up Collins within the Otto Group, which gave rise to the fashion and technology company About You in 2014. Since June 1, 2015, he has been a Constitutive Shareholder and Deputy Chairman of the Otto Group's Shareholders' Council and the Michael Otto Foundation, the majority owner of the Otto Group. On March 1, 2026, he will take over as Chairman of the Shareholders' Council and of the Michael Otto Foundation, assuming overall responsibility for the Otto Group.

Benjamin Otto is a committed investor in the start-up and venture capital sector. He is a co-initiator and anchor investor of the impact tech fund Revent, supports Social Entrepreneurship City Hamburg and Impossible Founders, Hamburg's start-up factory in the field of deep tech.

He is socially active with his foundations. He is chairman of the board of trustees of the Holistic Foundation, which he founded in 2018 together with his wife Janina Lin Otto. Together with her, he is co-founder of the social enterprises LIFE HAMBURG, holi.social, and the Academy of LIFE, which were initiated by the foundation. Benjamin Otto is also committed to healing through holistic, alternative treatment methods with his Holistic Health Institute foundation.
